The history of the Mission Hall and the Anglican Parish of Spearwood is long and convoluted. As part of the Parish of Beaconsfield originally the Spearwood area was served by visiting ministers who held services in private homes. The construction of the Mission Hall was an outreach into the area, and was built by contributions from the Parish of Beaconsfield and local businessmen who were mainly market gardeners. The history of the area is recorded in accidents and war efforts. It also tells of the changes in the demography from British migrants to people from middle European countries; from Anglican to Roman Catholic domination and from the area being a food basket to a highly developed residential city.
