This special edition celebrates 183 years of horse riding heritage - starting on the coastline where WA held its first horse race on what is today part of CY O'Connor Reserve in Cockburn. It celebrates riders, trainers and, of course, horses.On October 2 2016, the City of Cockburn, with Amalfi Publishing and South Fremantle stables owner Terry Pattesron, unveiled a permanent plaque at the site where the Swan River Colony's first race horses lined up on the beach.
