Library Services

Services available at all Cockburn Libraries unless otherwise indicated.

Borrow up to 20 items at one time. Loans are for three weeks. This includes books, magazines, audiobooks, DVDs, and music CDs.

Items can be renewed online – log in to your account to renew you loans, or by phone.
Note: Items cannot be renewed if they have been requested by another member or have already been renewed twice.

In addition to the physical items, you have access to ebooks, digital magazines, eAudiobooks, and streaming movies. The library has partnered with the following services to give you access to digital content:

  • ebooks and eAudiobooks from three providers: Overdrive/Libby, Borrowbox, and CloudLibrary
  • Digital magazines from RB Digital magazines
  • Streaming movies and documentaries from Kanopy.

After Hour Returns chutes are available at Coolbellup, Spearwood and Success Library.

Coolbellup - After-hours chute is located on the library wall as you enter the Coolbellup Hub front entrance.

Spearwood - After-hours chute is located on the library wall as you come up the stairs from the car park

Success - After-hours chute located near the North-West entrance to Cockburn Health & Community building. Opposite the pharmacy and the dentist.

Self service photocopying is available at all Cockburn Libraries.

Printing can be done from any of the Internet PCs and also via WiFi using our Print from Anywhere service.

EFTPOS now available - Visa and Mastercard only (credit or debit cards).

Printing from internet kiosks (A4 size) & Mobile printing (A4 or A3 size )

  • Black and white (single sided)  20c per sheet
  • Black and white (double sided)*  30c per sheet
  • Colour (single sided)  60c per sheet
  • Colour (double sided)* 90c per sheet

*Save money by printing double sided, when printing multiple sheets.

Print your documents from anywhere, then visit your nearest library to collect them.
Printing charges are the same per A4 or A3 sheet:

  • Black and white (single sided)  20c per sheet
  • Black and white (double sided)*  30c per sheet
  • Colour (single sided)  60c per sheet
  • Colour (double sided)* 90c per sheet

Internet PCs

Free internet access PCs are available for library members at all Cockburn Libraries. All computers also have Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher). Your library card number and your password required for login.

One hour or 30 minute sessions available. Sessions will be auto-extended up to 3 hour subject to availability. Available PCs can be used straight away or you can book a PC up to a week ahead. Printing is available from all PCs. 

Headphones must be worn for video/audio – BYO headphones or purchase earbuds at the library for $3.

WiFi

Cockburn Free WiFi is available at all libraries. No login required.
Printing can be done via the WiFi using our Print from Anywhere service

Scan to email or USB stick available at our photocopiers.

Scanning is free.

USB sticks are available to purchase: $7

Laminating service available. Ask at staff desk.

  • $2 per A4 size
  • $4 per A3 size
  • 50¢ per Business Card size

We can send a fax for you. Ask at staff desk.

Charges:

  • Australia: $1 for first page;  20¢ per additional page.
  • International: $2 for first page; 40¢ per additional page.

The JP service is available at:

  • Coolbellup Library – Mondays 10am–midday
  • Spearwood Library – Mondays 10am–12.30pm & Fridays (Italian JP) 10am–midday
  • Success Library – Tuesdays 4–6pm

The Italian Advice Service & JP is available on:

Fridays 10am-midday at Spearwood Library

Service for native born Italians, provided by ENASC (welfare and cultural office) – a non-profit organization funded by the Italian Government.

This service is free, offering a Justice of the Peace service and general advice on Italian law, immigration, and visas,  including matters related to the Italian Consulate.

“ENASC is a service addressing native born Italians in the community, many of whom are elderly with limited English language and writing skills. ENASC not only works in conjunction with crossover information to Centrelink, but also with Local, State and Federal Governments”

Also offers a general JP service, available to anyone.

Tax Help Program is a free and confidential service to help people complete their tax returns. Tax Help sessions are provided by ATO-trained and accredited community volunteers.

If you earned $60,000 or less in the tax year and meet some other criteria, you can book into a session.

Sessions are held from late July – October each year. Check the Tax Help page, which is updated in July each year, for all the details.

Home Library Service is available for City of Cockburn residents unable to travel to a library due to illness or disability.

The service is free and may be used by people living in their own homes, hostels, nursing homes or other accommodation within the City of Cockburn. To apply for the service please email us or phone 9411 3800. 

Deliveries are made once every four weeks and provide the following:

  • Fiction and Non Fiction Books (available in Large Print and Standard Print)
  • Audio Books (in both compact disc and MP3 format)
  • Music Compact Discs
  • DVDs

Cockburn Health and Community Facility / Success Library offers two distinct community spaces for hire by business, government, professional and community groups to conduct events, seminars, workshops or meetings.

  • Conference room – capacity 150 people
  • Community room (kitchen) – Capacity 50 people.
