Humans are no longer at the top of the food chain. A new threat to humanity has arrived in the form of a Parasyte. In order to survive these organisms burrow in and replace their host's head, assuming their shape. Shinichi Izumi, a sixteen-year-old high school student, falls victim to this Parasyte and loses his right hand to save his mind. With the loss of his hand and the Parasyte's instinct to survive Shinichi and his new companion, Migi, have no choice but to work together as they soon realise that this alien species has a new plan for the human race.
