BODY & HEALTH. This reassuring picture book explores in simple terms how introverted children often feel. It explains that nervousness is not a fixed trait but an emotion he or she can learn to control, helping them to better understand themselves and take full advantage of their strengths. It also teaches children that are more on the extroverted side to respect their introverted peer's desire for time and space to play alone. The book is written largely from the child's perspective. It is meant to be read with your child, or a group of children, in a way that allows the child to open up about what he or she thinks and feels. Questions in 'What about you?' sections provide useful prompts for discussion. If you're the parent of an introverted child, there are tips to help them in social situations and to teach your child to stand up for his or herself. All children, like all adults, are different. The first step is to treasure your child for who they are. Ages 5+
