Notes:
C1910.These three shoes were found in the area where quarry horses were kept.From the size of the shoe it would appear they were fitted to draught horses used for carting lime to the burning kilns.The shoe with the sharp point at the end was driven into a post and rope threaded through the horse shoe loop in order to make a slip rein to secure the horse.
