c1915. Watercolour sketch of an officer of the 12th Lancers in full dress uniform. Artist unknown. Very popular in the 1900's.

The bottle of wine has a humorous label and was presented to the museum by Don Miguel who was the Mayor of Cockburn at the time to mark the 20th anniversary of the museum in 1983.

Manufactured by Wimpway and was used at the Wanneroo Cricket Club. Gang reel mowers can be mounted or towed to a tractor.

1940. Manufactured by Acme Wringers Glascow. A metal clothes wringer with side hand crank and 2 rollers that could be attached by screw clamps to a wash trough or washing machine for removing excess water from washing.

c1950. Hand operated adding machine with carrying case.This would be the forerunner to the pocket calculator.

c1950. A hand operated machine which used plates that contained client names and addresses. The plates were loaded into the addressograph machine which imprinted envelopes to be posted to clients. Used until mid 70's until photocopying and computers made them redundant.

c1960. With 3 blades and shank. Packed in original box.

An Adze is a tool like an axe however the blade is approximately 90° to the handle. It is an ancient and versatile cutting tool used for various woodworking tasks including trimming, shaping and smoothing wooden surfaces and as a hoe for agriculture and horticulture.

This tractor was used in a local market garden owned by Ray Lees a former Mayor of Cockburn.

Small amber diamond latticed poison bottle. It is thought to have contained Lysol which was used as a disinfectant. Lysol is made from creosote and soft soap and was invented in Germany in 1889.

Also called a litter. Made from canvas stretched over a wooden frame. Stretchers are used to transport injured or sick people to receive treatment and are usually carried by two people, one at each end. Both of these stretchers were used overseas during the Second World War. [AL.85.64]
